I’ve been interested in music and art all my life. I have always been a diligent concertgoer and always sought out art exhibitions in the cities I have visited.

When I was a teenager, I started playing guitar and painting pictures myself. Later, for many years I was wonderfully preoccupied with my family, renovating an old house and my career as a top-civil servant. There was therefore – quite naturally – not much time for artistic expression.

Since I retired at the end of 2017, I have been happy to find more time to compose, record and release music and paint pictures.

You can see more about it below and on the next pages.

Some data about myself:

Paintings

Since I was a little boy, I’ve drawn and painted. First with pencil and crayon, later with water color and finally with oil and acrylic on canvas and masonite. It was greatly encouraged by my parents – especially my father, who himself was quite a good drawer and painter, without, however, pursuing it very much.

Whether it was heritage or environment that made it, must be unsaid, but I was quite good at drawing as a child. I could draw things so it actually looked like.

Therefore, it was natural for me that my first more serious attempts were portraits and drawings of things that were put in front of me. Later, I went into painting with oil on the masonite. Naturalistic images of villages were my first attempts.

After a number of years of hiatus from painting, I sporadically painted a few pictures, where I happily transitioned into the non-figurative. Since I retired myself in 2017, I’ve been more productive. All works are now non-figurative, with inspirations for forms and colors from things and places I’ve seen.

I don’t sell my works, but lend them out in unlimited time, with the only clause that if the borrower doesn’t want it hanging on its wall anymore, it must be returned to me.

Music

I’ve always liked listening to music. I was no more than 7-8 years old when I first heard The Beatles on the radio – and since then I’ve been completely sold to Beatles music and rock music in general.

I started playing guitar quite late. I was 15 years old when I borrowed a guitar from a good friend, and later that year bought my own first acoustic guitar. In high school, I formed a band with some friends and then I supplemented the acoustic guitar with an electric guitar. The band lasted for 5 years, after which we were all absorbed by our educations and the band slipped away.

When I studied at university, I myself moved to the other side of the desk when I first arranged some large fundraising concerts in Forum and KB-Hallen in Copenhagen. At one of these concerts Bruce Springsteen performed his song Hungry Heart together with the band Malurt, and I was honored to shake hand with Bruce. Later, I got a student job at Copenhagen Music Office, where we booked some of the biggest Danish and Swedish bands in the early 80s – among others: Bjørn Afzelius, Malurt, Tøsedrengene, News, Halberg/Larsen, Henrik Strube and Frontline.

In 2007, together with some colleagues in the Civil Aviation Administration, I formed a band that naturally came to be called ‘The Heroes of the Air’. With some minor changes along the way, we stay together until 2022. We played cover music suitable for parties.

After we disbanded ‘The Heroes of the Air’, I have been playing in the band ‘Electric Five’ since spring 2023, where we also play cover music suitable for parties.

Since I retired in 2017, I’ve had time to compose, record and release songs. It’s an incredibly enjoyable and creative process that challenges me in all its parts.
